How is it June already?? Happy Pride Month to our LGBTQ+ folks, and happy Independence Day to us, Filipinas! There’s a lot for us to stand up for, but also to be proud of. And for that, we at Women’s Fitness Philippines created a short and sweet playlist to celebrate Pinay pride.

Here are our favorite Pinoy songs, both old and new, to jam to this month. Also, listen. Nothing’s stopping you from calling up a kumare and holding a jam sesh or karaoke video call. Just saying.

Pretty Car, BP Valenzuela: For drives around our city, still alive and thriving in its own ways, perhaps with your fave person in the passenger’s seat.

A Song About Space, Reese Lansangan: Reminder to look up. Reflect on why we’re here. You’re made of stars, girl. Fall in love with the beauty of you and the universe.

Tabing Ilog, Barbie Almabis: For reminiscing on the golden hours of our childhoods. Splashing in puddles, playing under the rain, joining our friends in games on the street.

Dear Heart, Kiana V: We love how Kiana V interpreted this upbeat song. (Also throwback to her early days!)

Bongga Ka Day, Hotdog : We’re pumping up the vibe of this playlist. Get your tita vibes and dancing shoes on. (But seriously, can someone revive Manila Disco?)

Sumayaw Sumunod, VST & Company : It was either this or Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko. Both are staples in any Pinoy party playlist. And we’re sure you have a line dance sequence in mind already.

Mr. DJ, Sharon Cuneta: Can we make a request? Puwede ba, let us know your own Pinay pride songs to jam to? Tag us on social.

True Colors, MYMP: A beautiful reminder for us to shine through, no matter what. You’re valid and beautiful, just be true to yourself. (Okay, we know it’s a cover. But hey—MYMP is classic.)

Tala, Sarah Geronimo: End on a high note. Welcome the (unofficial) second national anthem of the Philippines – at least for 2020. Props if you memorize the whole choreo. Nothing but respect for our queen Sarah G!
