In a momentous milestone for Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), the company has announced Ma. Socorro Isabelle Aragon-GoBio as its first woman CEO. Effective February 1, 2025, GoBio’s appointment marks a new chapter of growth and innovation for the esteemed real estate developer, as Lance Gokongwei steps down as president and CEO. Gokongwei will continue to serve as RLC’s chairperson, ensuring stability during this transition.

The board of directors shared their optimism for GoBio’s leadership, stating, “Ms. Aragon-GoBio brings with her a wealth of experience, deep industry expertise, and a forward-thinking vision that will drive Robinsons Land Corp. into a new chapter of growth and innovation. Her steadfast commitment to operational excellence, customer-centricity, agility, and sustainable development will undoubtedly strengthen RLC’s market leadership and create long-term value for all
An Esteemed Trailblazer in Real Estate
GoBio’s career at RLC spans three decades of exceptional leadership and contributions. Joining the company in 1993, she has held pivotal roles in logistics, residential and office developments, and mixed-use estates. Currently, as senior vice president for Robinsons Destination Estates and business unit general manager, she has been the driving force behind some of RLC’s flagship projects, including Bridgetowne in Pasig and Quezon City, Sierra Valley in Rizal, and Montclair in Pampanga.

Her expertise extends beyond traditional real estate development. As president and CEO of Robinsons Logistix and Industrials Inc., she established the logistics facilities division, now a cornerstone of RLC’s diverse portfolio. Her visionary leadership continues to shape RLC’s expansion and adaptability in an evolving real estate landscape.

Navigating Challenges with Vision
GoBio’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the real estate industry. The sector faces significant challenges, including unsold residential units piling up in Metro Manila. According to Colliers Philippines’ year-end 2024 report, it could take nearly six years to fully absorb the inventory of finished units in the capital region. Reflecting these market dynamics, RLC’s residential earnings fell by 23.5% in the first nine months of 2024 to ₱6.46 billion, primarily due to a weaker middle-income segment.
Despite these hurdles, GoBio’s proven ability to drive innovation and her deep understanding of market trends position her as the ideal leader to steer RLC through these challenges. Her leadership underscores RLC’s unwavering commitment to excellence and sustainable growth.
An Inspiration for Future Generations
GoBio’s journey is a testament to resilience, dedication, and expertise. Earlier in her career, she led RLC’s high-rise buildings division, significantly boosting the company’s revenues through successful residential condominium and office projects. Her academic credentials—a bachelor’s degree in management engineering from Ateneo de Manila University and a minor in international business from the University of Antwerp—further highlight her commitment to continuous learning and excellence.
As the first woman CEO of RLC, GoBio not only shatters glass ceilings but also sets a powerful example for women aspiring to lead in traditionally male-dominated industries. Her appointment is a beacon of progress and a reminder that diversity and inclusion strengthen leadership and drive innovation.

A Bright Future for Robinsons Land Corp.
Under GoBio’s leadership, RLC is poised to navigate the complexities of the real estate market while championing innovation and sustainability. Her strategic vision and operational acumen promise a transformative era for the company, fostering resilience and growth in the face of challenges.
As RLC embarks on this new chapter, GoBio’s appointment heralds a future where leadership excellence and inclusive progress go hand in hand. With her at the helm, Robinsons Land Corp. is set to soar to even greater heights, redefining success in the real estate industry.
